Square 1 Architectural Solutions Ltd Terms and Conditions of Business

  1. GENERAL
    1. Square 1 reserve the right to revise these terms and conditions at any time. 1.2 All sales contracts of Square 1 shall be deemed to incorporate these conditions except where any change has been agreed in writing between the parties.
  2. ORDERING FROM US
    1. Web Orders You are deemed to place an order with us by ordering via our online checkout process. As part of our checkout process you will be given the opportunity to check your order. We will send you an order acknowledgement (an email address must be provided to receive this). 2.2 Quotation acceptance orders Alternatively, orders can be placed via email or the telephone by calling us on 01489 583371. Square 1 will issue a quotation. Once a quotation has been agreed your order will be deemed as accepted after the first payment of the agreed payment structure has been received. 2.3 Only when we despatch the order will the purchase contract be made, even if your payment has been processed immediately. 2.4 We may refuse to accept an order: (a) Where we cannot obtain authorisation for your payment; (b) If there has been misinformation provided to us or a product description error.
  3. UK DELIVERY
    1. For our purposes the UK includes England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man and Ireland. 3.2 Generally deliveries will be made within 7 to 21 working days dependant on size or complexity of order. Glass orders will be delivered within 28 working days. Delivery will be confirmed within 24hrs of order. If an order is delivery dependant it is requested that this order is made by phone where a member of our team will advise on delivery times. A signature is required on all deliveries. 3.3 Where stock is available there is a next day delivery service available on request. 3.4 The Courier will attempt a maximum of three deliveries to your delivery address (please note they are not obliged to leave a calling card to say they have attempted delivery), before returning your items back to us. The cost of re-sending out any returned items will lie with the customer. 3.5 The Company shall not be liable in any way for any direct or indirect loss, damage or expenses (including but not limited to loss of profit and liability to third parties) suffered or incurred by the Buyer as a consequence of any delay in delivery. 3.6 Please check all parcels are present and intact on delivery before signing your delivery ticket (Items cannot be replaced if a parcel is missing that you have signed for). 3.7 When ordering glass it is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the glass can be offloaded safely. When signing for your items please ensure that you also date and time the courier’s sheet. If you are unsure about any item please sign for it as damaged, and call us on 01489 583371 within 24hrs to report this item as damaged. If all parcels are received and no visible damage has been signed for, the buyer has 7 days in which to inspect your parts for damage or shortage in quantity. Please report any damages or shortage of items to us on 01489 583371. We are unable to replace any items that are not reported within 7 days. 3.7 Force Majeure – The Company shall not be liable for failure to deliver the Goods for any reason whatsoever outside the reasonable control of the Company including, without limitation to the generality of the foregoing, industrial action, war, storm, fire, explosion, flood, governmental action or regulation, act of God, riots, strikes, lock outs or non-availability of stocks or materials.
  4. PRICING
    1. All prices are exclusive of VAT. We reserve the right to express the price exclusive of VAT, but we shall show VAT separately and include it in the total price. 4.2 Where we charge separately for carriage, the appropriate rates are set out in our specified pricing structure shown under our “Shipping Rates” page. 4.3 PAYMENT All goods shall be paid for in full (unless otherwise agreed) by the Purchaser to Square 1 at the time of ordering, by cash, cheque or by credit/debit card. 4.4 Where account facilities apply, having been expressly agreed in writing by Square 1, the price shall be paid in full by the Purchaser to Square 1 within 30 days of the date of the invoice. 4.5 Square 1 reserve the right to charge interest at a rate two percent above the Barclays Bank base rate from the date when the price falls due for payment until the date on which such payments are received by Square 1, and in the case of any default in payment the Purchaser shall give Square 1 every assistance in the repossession of the goods in respect of which payment has not been made.
  5. MATERIALS
    1. Glass Tolerances. A tolerance of +/- half the thickness of the glass to a maximum of +/- 4mm is required by Square 1 Architectural Solutions Ltd in accordance with industry standards. There are no standards for curved glass. 5.2 Stainless Steel Finishes. Our pricing for balustrade metal is based on a satin finish unless specifically stated within this quotation. Mirror finish stainless steel is available but well incur a longer lead time, increased cost and longer installation which in turn will make the install more expensive. Stainless steels are selected in applications where their inherent corrosion resistance, strength and aesthetic appeal are required. Square 1 will endeavour to ensure that the correct grade of stainless steel is selected for the appropriate location and application. However, dependent on the service conditions, stainless steel is a steel alloy and will stain and discolour due to surface deposits and so cannot be assumed to be completely stain/rust/corrosion proof and maintenance free. In order to achieve maximum corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal, the surface of the stainless steel must be kept clean and cleaning schedules carried out on a regular basis, good performance and long service life will result. Square 1 do offer a 12 months defects warranty after delivery. This warranty does not apply in the circumstances below;
      • Fair wear and tear;
      • Damage accidental or negligence by you or by any third party;
      • If you fail to operate or use the Products in accordance with instructions;
      • Any alteration or repair by you or by a third party.
      • Corrosion of any kind resulting from failure to regularly clean the products or from products being used in a location or environment different to that stated at the point of sale.
    2. Square 1 do offer a full maintenance programme to suit your project. Prices available on request.
  6. FABRICATION
    1. Where specifically requested Square 1 will fabricate your materials for you to your requirements. This includes for; Modular
    2. Cutting upright posts
    3. Drilling and tapping upright posts.
    4. Please note Square 1 cannot guarantee the location of fixing holes for any handrails and therefore we will not prepare the handrails unless specifically requested. This is because the location of the upright posts determine the location of the fixings for the handrail and we cannot ensure the fixing centres of posts installed by others.
  7. CANCELLATION AND RETURNS POLICY
    1. If you wish to cancel your order: (a) You can notify us by email to mail@square-1balustrades.co.uk or telephone on 01489 583371 before we have dispatched the goods to you. (b) Cancelled orders that have been dispatched you will incur a 10% re-stocking fee and your delivery charge will not be refunded. This includes orders that have been returned to us after a failed delivery attempt by the Courier service. 7.2 You can return goods you have ordered from us in its original condition any time within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange. We can only accept the return of opened items if they are faulty. The costs of returning goods to us shall be borne by you. Items that are returned to us for a refund are subject to a 10% re-stocking fee. 7.3 Upon receipt of the goods we will give you a refund -10% of the amount paid. We will notify you when the item(s) have been received and the item refunded. For you protection we recommend that you use a recorded-delivery service. 7.4 Items that are returned after the 30 day returns period are subject to a further 10% charge. 7.5 The rights to return the goods to us as referred to in clause 6.3 will not apply in the following circumstances: – In the event that the product has been used To any products that we have made or customised specifically for you The provisions of this clause 6.5 do not affect your statutory rights.     2. CALCULATIONS
    3. We have not undertaken any structural calculations and have made no allowance for a structural engineer. It is the responsibility of the client to request if calculations will be required prior to placement of order.
    4. Square 1 can provide structural calculations if required. Please speak to our advisor who can advise.
